It seems that the controversy between the riding advantages/disadvantages of a 29er goes beyond that. The email list contest featured a the question of which was the first company to attempt to make the first 29er bike. For my answer, I referred to Wikipedia’s article on the history of the 29er bike. Travis came out with a different answer than wikipedia. On my research to find the answer, I also stumbled upon Travis’ link http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=191842. I was not able to find a concrete answer on the thread. There was a lot of bickering on what came first, the Diamond Back, the Bianchi, The Moots or the New Sheriff.
Travis’ counterpoint with links to back up his claim is more than welcome. Yet, the controversy remains. You can argue that both Kevin and Travis are correct. But to say that our credibility is Zero without providing facts or links is totally wrong.
