Tuesday Brews Day -Stone Ruination IPA.

If you like strong beers that pack a wallop you should take a look at Stone Ruination India Pale Ale. It’s a double hopped brew that brings twice the bitterness and twice the flavor. I used to dislike IPAs but this one made me a convert. 7.7% alcohol content and 100+ International Bitterness Units, make this brew absolutely explode in your mouth. Sorry…bad picture, but good beer.

As far as IBUs go, this is one of the bitterest ones out there but it doesn’t kill the taste. There’s plenty of hops and citrus flavor to hook you in. I’m a bit tired from the weekend so I’ll just let you read this review that was hung on the wall at Stone Brewery.

See, you get the idea. Try one if you dare! Probably one of my top 5 favorites.

So my reason for traveling to this brewery over the weekend(this is what I was telling myself) was to check out some beer-themed cruiser bikes that were made specifically to be auctioned for a Breast Cancer fundraiser. Being the charitable cycling person I am, I decided to go donate my funds to this noble brewery. I’m a giver, I know.

The bikes they had were really raw and not finished at the highest standards but I thought they looked cool. Hell, two of them even had the brewery’s belt buckle/bottle opener welded to the front of the frame. Now that’s form AND function!

As you may or may not see in the first picture, the brewery uses a gargoyle as their symbol, to ward off evil spirits(preservatives, artificial flavors, etc.). Each of the bikes was formed to look like a gargoyle wing. Interesting. Now I may be biased by Ruination, but I liked this one the best.
