Tuesday Brews Day -Alesmith Nautical Nut Brown Ale-

Not everyone likes a thick, dark stout after a ride. So today we’ll look at a lighter ale that’s a little easier on the palate. This dry, windy, fall weather makes me want to stay inside and relax. So after you’ve come home from that dusty ride and blown all the dirt boogers out of your nose, head down to your local booze market to pick up some Alesmith Nautical Nut Brown Ale.

Based in San Diego, this little brewery made a name for itself with some delicious products. Ale Smith Nautical Nut Brown is made with English hops that give it a light feel on the palate with a slight sweetness. You can definitely taste the nuttiness come through with each drink. It’s a very mild beer and really doesn’t have a bitter bone in it’s body. And at 5.0% alcohol you can drink to your hearts content.

There are malty and chocolatey flavors but they are subtle and let the light, sweet nut flavor come through. In the British ale style, it’s pretty smooth and oh so flavorful. It’s comparable to a Newcastle in consistency but is head and shoulders above it, in my opinion. If you’re doing some serious R&R, grab one of these to accompany you. Like a cool mountain breeze, it’ll make you shut your eyes and contemplate the finer things in life. Ahhhhhhh.
