The more you ride rigid, the easier it gets (that's what she said). I got pounded with a rigid fork for a while, but once I got used to relaxing my arms even more than I had before, it was no big deal. I'll ride a suspension bike again someday, but for now I'll sticking to a rigid 26". Just keep riding that for a couple more weeks, adapt your riding style to it, and you'll probably end up liking it a lit more.

Cool project RL. It might be that you have a 26" on the rear, but my full rigid Bandersnatch has been unbelievable(in a good way).

Not sure I would have enjoyed it several years ago, but I feel comfortable with my riding skill now and have come to love riding with no suspension. I highly doubt I'd ride a 26 rigid only because the 29 wheels really do serve as a minimal sort of suspension(smoothing out small hits), but the 29er rigid is fun as hell.

It is THE manliest of manly ways to ride your bike!
