I was looking for a new low cost frame and your site sold me on this one. The frame is great, much better then I expected. In regards to the 2.3 tire clearance, well I put on 2.35's and it looks like I could fit some 2.4's on it.

Did you bother to weigh that particular frame before the build-up? The list weight for the 18" is 4.5lbs, so I'm just curious about the 16" since that's my size. The 2.3" max tire sze is a huge bonus, too.

I wasn't passing a judgment on whether it was good or bad being built in China. The bike I have was built in China. I'm just saying that it's possible to sell a frame here in the states for $99 because the frame's built in China. They can build things in high volume for a low, low price. Same reason why you can go down to walmart and get a bike for under $100. It's just way cheaper to build things in China. If this frame were built in the US, they'd probably sell it for $400. The scary thing is that, pricepoint sells it for $99, how much are they buying it from the factory? My guess is that they're making a decent profit of 50 points. That's how cheap they can make things in China!
