MtnBikeRiders.com Team BBQ

Last Saturday, the Race Team had a BBQ/Party at Kim and Tony’s place. First I’d like thank the Finch’s for hosting and providing the best place ever to have a biking related party.

You’ll see in the video that Kim and Tony have an awesome home. Not only are they REALLY into mountain biking, but their home is laced with mountain biking related things. From trophies, videos and all the way down to a front and back yard that has ladder bridges and all sorts of stuff that many of us could only dream of having in our own home.

Great food, great friends and definitely a great time! By the way, if you happen to be one of our friends on Facebook, more so Joe’s FB account, there are some incriminating pics in there…let’s just say it involves a sausage, Moe and RL.

Marwi NightPro Aurora LED Elite Rechargeable Lighting System

Posted by Joe Solancho On August - 31 - 2009

With the summer ending around the corner, this is a good time to prep and have your gear ready for evening rides. Don’t let the time change deter you from your normal rides after work or riding routine. If you don’t have a light, go out and get yourself the Aurora Elite, by Marwi. (If you already have a light, the Elite is an outstanding second unit).

This is one lighting unit that I would recommend. Small in size, yet packs a punch that that will brighten up your trails. I’ve had a chance to use this unit on a handful of night rides. Sometimes as a solo unit (handlebar mounted) and sometimes as a secondary helmet mounted light. (Note that the Elite is packaged as a helmet light, the handlebar mount is available, but sold separately.)

Other than super bright beam that the LED produces, the other stand out is the impressive battery life. I’ve used the Elite on several rides with only one charge. Our normal rides ranges from 1-1.5 hrs.

FEATURES:
* Low battery warning system
* Double hull design prevents skin burn
* Precise CNC light unit with IPX4 water resistance
* Optional extension kit for dual system application
* Replaceable LED bulb
* Universal charger

COMPONENTS:

- 8d Beam
- 80 lm Lumins

Light Performance Lux @ 10 Meters:

- Low = >15 and consistent light output

Battery Pack:
- Cell = Li-lon
- Volt = 3.7
- Cap = 4.6Ah

Charging Time = 9.5 Hours
Burn Time = 8 to 16 Hours based upon settings
Weight = 481g

The Aurora Elite comes with a helmet mount, charger and a small pouch for the battery. It can be used for other outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, fishing, etc… MSRP $145.00

Not used to being the “actor in a video”

Posted by RL Policar On August - 28 - 2009

OK well that title isn’t entirely true. I do love to ham it up for the camera and try to get a reaction. But what was interesting about last week’s ride at Aliso Woods, Joe’s Brother in-law, Chaz(he goes by Cons-but that’s my new name for him), had brought his own camera to film the day’s festivities. Most of the time when we post videos, its either us messing around, product stuff or helmet cam views. But this time in the video below, you can kinda see that even though we’re world famous mountain bikers…we’re still just like you, a mountain bike rider.

MtnBikeRiders.com Team Jerseys-Pink

Posted by RL Policar On August - 28 - 2009

We did a small run of these new pink jerseys. Part of the pink was for our girls on the team. But it is also a way to show our respect for team racer Kim Finch who is a cancer survivor. Plus it looks super cool!!!
