A few years back we had learned about this Carbon Wally World bike being sold for $325. Here’s the specs:

This all terrain bicycle is designed for the enthusiast who likes to take to the trails with a lightweight performance bike. Carbon fiber offers a lightweight but extremely durable platform to create the heart of this bicycle: three oversized tubes of carbon fiber mated to an aluminum alloy rear triangle. This combination of advanced composites and performance components has never been offered on the market until now.

Technica 26″ C5 Carbon All Terrain Bicycle:

* Carbon fiber and 6061 alloy frame ATB
* Shimano 21-speed shifting system
* RST suspension fork
* Flat alloy handlebar
* Alloy quick release seat binder
* Alloy micro adjust seat post
* 26″ x 2.1″ Kenda Knarly tires
* Padded racing saddle

Speeds: Shimano Revo 21-speed grip shifting system
Suspension: RST suspension fork
Frame: Carbon Fiber Frame
Bike Type: Mountain Bikes
Brake Type: Front and rear hand brakes
Gender: Men
Shipping Weight (in pounds): 41.0

Well it turns out these things are for real! I actually saw one near my office.

Beautiful carbon weave…

I wanted to pick it up and see how much it weighs, but I don’t think the owner would like that since he wasn’t there. I’m sure it looked funny enough that I was taking pics of his Carbon Bike.

I need to mention that the whole bike isn’t really carbon. The bike had welds on the joints, so I’m guessing that this thing only has some carbon on parts of the bike.

    Just like those ‘carbon’ stems you see on eBay for under $20, this is most likely a single layer carbon wrap on the TT, DT, ST.

    For the same amount of money, I’d rather get an entry level Trek or some other reputable brand.
