Look what just came in, its the Cane Creek Angleset Model#: AngleSet ZS49 — ZS49/30

The all-new AngleSet threadless headset from Cane Creek makes it possible to change your game. You can now transform the head angle of your mountain bike with ease, as the low-stack-height AngleSet offers up to six offset angle adjustments. With steeper or slacker adjustments from 0.5 to 1.5 degrees, dialing in the perfect geometry to attack the trail is a breeze.

This particular model comes with a 1.0 degree off-set angle, which means my Airborne Taka is going from a head tube angle of 66 to 65 degrees.

MSRP:$170, but you can easily find them online as cheap as $135.

Could mountain biking become more expensive?

Posted by RL Policar On March - 31 - 2011

Staff writer Tim Cutters first posted about this on his Facebook page and it made me thing about mountain biking in general. Truth be told, mountain biking can be expensive. So with the threat of inflation in the near future, could our sport be severely affected?

U.S. consumers face “serious” inflation in the months ahead for clothing, food and other products, the head of Wal-Mart’s U.S. operations warned Wednesday.

You can read more about inflation worries from USA Today’s site.

Unboxing the Airborne Taka

Posted by RL Policar On March - 28 - 2011

Last Friday, we received a shipment of Airborne Taka Downhill Bikes (more on that later) and since some of you have never seen how these babies are packed, we decided to show you the un-boxing process.

With the help of Cousin Joe, we documented this glorious event. As you can see the Taka comes double boxed for added protection.

Notice the thick foam pads.

The wheels are securely set in place with another foam pad to prevent it from damaging the bike below.

Here’s what it looks like inside. Everything is zipped tied and packed with foam and cardboard for protection.

Before placing the bike on the stand, we cut the seat post about 3″. This allows us proper saddle height when riding DH, yet still long enough to mount on the repair stand. Then we installed the fork, stem/bars. Wheels came next and a final tune up.

The Airborne Taka was packed so well that we decided to take the cardboard and lay it on the ground. Cousin Joe couldn’t resist busting out his break dancing moves.

So there you have it, the exciting unboxing of the Airborne Taka, I don’t know about you, but I’m VERY impressed on how well its done. This should give any potential Airborne customer peace of mind knowing that their bike will arrive super protected.

Duh…Winning!

See the red stripe…made out of genuine Tiger Blood. The whiteness was achieved by dying the fabric in a substance called…CHARLIE SHEEN! Besides, the shirt makes your muscles look bigger and it turns you into a Vatican Assassin…BOOM!

Enter the contest before it ends on March 31st, 2011.
