Ergon just introduced their new GA1 All Mountain/Free ride/Downhill grips at Sea Otter Classic. The GA1 was Ergon’s answer to ergonimic grips for aggressive riding. I’ve been waiting for them to come out with these style of grips for the longest time. Now that they have, they even came out with it in WHITE!

Specs:

New for 2009, the GA1 is a specific all mountain grip. Using the knowledge gained in the development of the GE1, the GA1 features a sculpted shape, and various textures to offer many of the advantages of our platform grips, in situations where absolute freedom of movement is called for. Securely bolted down with a slim aluminum clamp, available in two sizes, and three colours. Ergonomics aren’t just for XC or Endurance riders.

They also came out with a new large back pack called the BC3.

Water proof, and water resistant zippers.

The BC3 would be great for long haul/epic rides or races like the Counting Coup or Traverse that Eric “The Animal” Hunner likes to do for fun.
Specs:

NEW! A cycling backpack built to take the punishment of a TransAlp race or your day to day commute. Double the capacity of our BD2, the Flink® Link ball joint equipped BC3 features a lightweight frame and allows for natural freedom of movement for the upper body yet still provides optimal load distribution. The BC3 utilizes a high-tech, heavy-duty water proof material (water proofed on both sides), with water resistant zippers, a helmet holder, internal compartments to keep you organized and a sleeve for a hydration bladder. The BC3 can carry your gear on an overnight mountain bike trip or your office clothes and laptop on an everyday commute. Gender specific carrying systems available in two sizes.

Sea Otter 2009: Melissa Buhl and Sam Hill win Dual Slalom

Posted by Joe Solancho On April - 19 - 2009

You can always count on great Dual Slalom action from the Sea Otter.  This year was no different.  There was plenty of spectacular racing in today’s Dual Slalom.  One of the top gravity racers Sam Hill out raced Cody Warren for the men’s finals.  In the women’s side, KHS’ Melissa Buhl bested Olympian Jill Kintner.

The men’s DS had top names going head to head.  Veterans Eric Carter and Kirt Voreis were racing against guys almost half their age and beating them.  Young PROs like JD Swanguen, the Athertons, Jared Rando and Mick Hannah, just to name a few, were all present.

We also saw the return of Kyle Strait.  In the end, out of the 32 racers, Australia’s Sam Hill came out on top.  Out of the gate he was smooth and fast all the way down to the Finish Line.  The top American was Cody Warren.  He was doing well until he crashed on the second heat of the Finals.

The women had 16 competitors.  The action was just as intense as the men.  There were plenty of crashes and head to head battles.  SoCal’s Joy Martin, a regular face in the Fontana races finished 8th.  In the end it was World Champion Melissa Buhl going against Olympian Jill Kintner.  This was the much anticipated match-up.  I have a feeling these two will be going head to head for a long time

If you didn’t know, the Sea Otter Classic happens not this coming weekend, but the following on April 16-19th,2009. With that said, MtnBikeRiders.com will be sending a crack commando unit to cover the event. We’re hoping to provide you some fun race photos and videos as well as some of our trade mark shenanigans or as Evomo would like to call it, “rukus.”

The title of this post says, “free advertising” what does that exactly mean? Simple really, if you would like to see our crew of 5 in your gear, then send us a kit for each person to wear. Here’s a sample of what Evomo Clothing did…

Evomo Clothing not only made us look legit, but dude, I think they helped me bring Sexy Back! Well I already brought it, but I forgot it in the car. So when I wore the Evomo shirt, it was if I never lost it.

What’s in it for you to send us your stuff. Well think about it, you’ll have 5 handsome guys prancing around during Sea Otter where thousands of people will see it. Plus we’re taking videos, and photos in which we’ll be wearing your product…by the way, MtnBikeRiders.com gets TONS of hits per day…so think about it, you’re getting a triple whammy…event exposure, website exposure, and photo/video exposure…

Anyhow, if you’re interested, shoot us an email… infoATmtnbikeridersDOTcom

2010 Fox F29 & RP23 w/boost

Posted by Jeremy Yang On March - 29 - 2009

Couple of links came across my email this evening and I thought I’d share them with you. Both of them are regarding Fox products: the F29 and the RP23.

The first one is for the 2010 Fox F29. It has something many people have been wanting out of a Fox F29… stiffness via TA. In this case it’s the Fox TA version, the 15QR.

Click picture for supersize!

Some other new changes:
Colors are standard white & black, options: titanium
Remote Lockout
“FIT” damper system
New ergo lockout levers

I’m very excited about these changes, especially the lockout. The 15QR is a nice change as well, but why not go full TA?

Also, got a link to the new 2010 RP23 with “boost”.

Also, supersize-able

Not much info about the new “boost valve” damping technology other than that it “eats up square edged bumps, eliminates suspension over travel and provides bottom-out resistance like no other FLOAT has.”

EDIT: Found more info on the Boost Valve.

If this comes out at Sea Otter 2009, we’ll be there to cover it. SO is in 2 1/2 weeks!
