Customer support that blows…

As I was riding downhill at Chino Hills, my K2 Lithium 4.0 started to make this horrible noise. Turns out the bearings from the Shock linkage basically disintegrated.

First thing I did was contact K2 to see about replacement bearings, they responded by telling me that I couldn’t purchase the bearings by themselves, but I had to buy the whole pivot assembly. WTF? Fine, I replied, how much is it? Answer: 80 bucks + s/h but the part is backordered and it won’t be in stock for about 1-3 months, WTF? So I did a search on bike bearings, that lead me to, I entered the dimensions of the bearings and voila, a slew of choices popped up on my screen. I chose the $16 Sealed Bearings and the bearings were at my door in 3 days. RL installed the bearings, which fit perfectly, and the K2 Lithium 4.0 is ready to rock.

It is unfortunate that the customer support sucks at K2/Iron horse, I really like riding the K2 but let’s say I won’t be buying another one.
