So there I was minding my own business…

I was at Wal-Mart this morning getting some stuff for the garage and I over heard a husband and wife complaining to the Wal-Mart (insert sarcasm…right about…..HERE!) “Bike Mechanic” about how her brakes on the new bike she bought…a Pacific something or other…were rubbing on one side.

The “Mechanic” or the guy that was assigned to that aisle said, “I’ll be right back, let me get some tools.” So once he walked away, I quickly jumped into action and greeted the couple in distress. “Hi, I’m a Bike Mechanic!” I quickly showed them how to adjust the uneven brakes with the same techniques I mentioned on a previous post.

Once I was done showing them…I disappeared into one of the aisles. But then the funniest thing happened, the husband said to the Wal-Mart Bike Mechanic….”What you did just made it worse! Some guy just showed us to fix it…here let me show you.”

So what’s the moral of the story….Wal-Mart “Bike Mechanics” aren’t really bike mechanics. They’re just some guy that was assigned to keep that aisle clean for during his shift.
