ERGON BD1 at Interbike 2007

So we walked over to the Ergon Bike booth to check out their new back packs. I have to tell you, this like no other back pack I’ve ever tried. First of all, it has these straps that pretty much hug your body. I even told the fella that was demonstrating the bag that I felt like I was being groped…not necessarily a bad thing….

Here’s a side shot of the BD1

I was wearing a commuter back pack to the show and the guys at Ergon told me to try out the BD1 to see how it feels on my back. One of the cool features of the bag is that it has a pivot which allows your body to move left or right without moving your whole bag…which in return causes less shoulder strain.

Here’s some of the hardware.

Then they had me guess how much the Ergon BD1 weighed since it didn’t feel like it had anything in it. So Mr. Ergon fella takes it off my back and places the bag in my hand and I just about dropped the darn thing! The bag was just as heavy as the bag I had and my bag has a laptop, cameras, and a bunch of heavy things…but the Ergon BD1 was remarkably light on my shoulders….dunno how, but it was and I NEED TO HAVE ONE!
