Osprey Raptor 14L Backpack first impressions

It was time to retire my 16 year old Deuter Race Air II backpack so I had to do some research on what backpack would accommodate my aging needs. My main focus was to get a comfortable backpack that would be easy on my back and easy on my shoulders.

I considered the USWE Outlander and the EVOC stage 12 but I ended up with the Osprey Raptor 14L. Here are my first impressions:

I liked the wider thicker shoulder straps; these were really comfortable during my first ride. The backpack did not move and my shoulders were not sore after the ride.

Their Airscape Backpanel provided adequate ventilation and was also comfortable on my back.

Other cool features are the roll up tool, the helmet holder and the easily accessible side pouches. So far I am happy with the purchase of the bag.
