Wisdom From Woodstock Bikes

A while back I received an email from Owner/Rider of Woodstock Bikes, Jimmy Rigsby on another way of tunning a rear derailleur.

Check it out:

Here is another method that might be helpful:
Set the left shifter in the middle gear (which will be where the chain is on the middle chain ring of the 3 front chain rings).
Set the right shifter to the lowest gear (which will be where the chain is on the largest rear cog).
Check rear derailleur…..it should line up with the largest cog.
To move derailleur towards the smallest cog, tighten L screw.
To move derailleur towards the largest cog, loosen L screw.
Set the right shifter to the highest gear (which will be where the chain is on the smallest rear cog).
Check rear derailleur…..it should line up with the smallest cog.
To move derailleur towards the smallest cog, loosen H screw.
To move derailleur towards the largest cog, tighten H screw.
