HOW TO INSTALL YOUR FAVORITE BEER CAPS ONTO YOUR BAR ENDS:

I’ve seen a few guys add their favorite brew to the bar ends of their bikes. I figured I wanted to the world to know that my drink is Fat Tire Amber Ale by New Belgium.

I have this installed on my Xtracycle…heck it even matches my bike colors!

First step, get your favorite beer. As I’ve mentioned mine is this fella right here.

Since Fat Tire isn’t a twist cap like some other beers, I have to make sure that I carefully pry it open without denting the cap. The trick is to lift a side a bit slowly evenly as you make your way around the cap.

Eventually it will come loose and you’ll have a dent free cap for your bar end. Tada!

So there’s a couple of things you can do to attach the cap to your bar ends. One is applying some glue behind it and apply it directly to the end of your grips. Another technique is to take an end cap like the one pictured below, apply some hot glue or even epoxy to the back side of the cap, place the cap inside then let it dry.

Once you’ve let it dry plug up the bar end. Voila! Now you’re rolling in style.

You can do this for both mountain or road bike. This project isn’t necessarily important, but it adds an extra kick to your bike’s personality. Besides you have an excuse to drink your favorite beer…twice…yes twice, you do need two bottle caps, right?
