No matter how much you stay away from it, you still want to go back! I don’t know about you, but as much as I love my 5-8″ travel bikes, there’s just something alluring about a beautifully made steel frame mountain bike. Prime example, a Soma Analog, simple and classy lines has me wanting it as soon as I saw the frame.

The old cliche about “steel is real” is getting played out, I’m changing it up because now, its “Steel is BACON!” Why? Because no one can resist bacon, even vegetarians can’t resist it.

Great analogy. Having ridden steel all my life (up to number 8 now) I believe there is no better material. I love bacon, I love steel, I love “Steel is bacon.” You convinced me to get bacon decals made for my steel 29er. Once in, I will send some your way.

How much are these frames? That’s a really nice looking frame ! Is there one without the v brake bosses?

  3. RL Policar says:

I think they run around $450. Not sure if they don’t have bosses, click on the link in the article to take you to the Soma site.

I’ve been a vegetarian for 20 years and have never been tempted by bacon. On the other hand, I’ve purchased many steel bikes in that time, and love them. So maybe the better analogy is “Bacon is like Steel” since nobody can resist steel.
