Using a bike to lose weight

One of the things that happened as I got older was that I found that is harder to lose the weight. As much as I embrace the “dad bod”, there comes a time that losing weight will improve my health.

Most of us wait for the new year to re-start our weight loss journey, I decided to get ahead and start on November 1st. I weighed in at 194.6 lbs and being 5’7″, that is considered being very overweight.

Having tried a few weigh loss methods, I found that monitoring my calories helps me being accountable for what I eat and how much I eat. I use MyFitnessPal to monitor my food intake as well as my exercise.

I also purchased a Zwift Hub and use their app for my indoor workouts. I’ve been consistently riding twice during the week and I do an outside ride on the weekend.

After 45 days, I have managed to lose 9 lbs, it may not sound like much but my cardio fitness has increased dramatically. Stay tuned for the 60 day update.
